Bills' Disappointing Performance Gives New England Path to Top Spot - Best of Week 10 NFL Action

The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many fans into the National Football League
That result could have created things up for the Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their eight and two rivals
Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had ideal outcomes to arrange a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to address
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against Miami but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 winners in an surprising outcome - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the squad's initial first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - admittedly Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was still a massive egg produced by one of the league's top offences
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores
Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and just over half their 161.5 yard season average
Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area meaning a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that Miami turned into a touchdown just later
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to do too much to dig his team from the situation - not the calm, disciplined, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year
The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on if this is the start of a trend, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the American Football Conference East
In Focus - New England Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed
Regarding the Patriots, they're one of three eight and two squads in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the best?
One could pick holes in New England, the Broncos and the Colts actually for feasting on the lesser sides, with only five of their total 24 wins coming against teams with a positive record - and one example was the Indianapolis beating the Denver
Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indy can ride Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time success in Buffalo appears to be a statement
Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive wins, just like Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was huge
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely deserves credit for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his side to victory
The defensive unit is reliable and rookie running back Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different runner to break 22mph this year on his initial touchdown
Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to end with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against Buffalo
Visiting the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who could also challenge for first place but encounter the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There's a long way to travel but the door is open for a shock top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Showdown
Two teams with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different eight and two sides are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who both scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two ahead of next week's major game between the two in Los Angeles
They've both won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units allowing fewer than twenty points a game
Each could realistically be without a loss as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Buccaneers - so they're genuinely among the top teams in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season to date
Player of the Week - Taylor
Taylor might be on for a record season after his incredible display in Berlin - rushing for 244 yards, registering three scores and contributing another forty-two {receiving yards
