The Streaming Giant Chooses Spot-On Performer for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t take place until season 3, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed recently that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Bentham. Bon Clay possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that character reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action series, as in the original manga and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside multiple new cast members set to bring the group to reality, including leader Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Even though Bon Clay is a important part of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece season 3. Given the next season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this represents a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could suggest additional alterations to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is set to return for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
