Arsenal are concerned that center-back Gabriel Magalhães may be out of action for a minimum of four weeks after sustaining a thigh strain while playing for Brazil last week.

Gabriel limped off during the Seleção's 2-0 victory against Senegal in a friendly at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday and has since gone back to his team for further assessments.

Club examinations are still underway, and the club have yet to announce the full extent of the defender's layoff.

That said, he is not anticipated to be available for the upcoming North London derby on Sunday or the Champions League fixture with Bayern Munich just three days.

Potential Absence and Missed Fixtures

There are concerns that Gabriel could be out for a minimum of one month, perhaps more, depending on the severity of the injury.

That could keep him out of key crucial fixtures, such as:

• Premier League matches against Chelsea and Brentford at the Emirates
• An away match to play Aston Villa
• The European match at Brugge on 10 December

Mikel Arteta's team—that currently hold a four-point lead over City—afterwards meet Wolves at the Emirates before a rescheduled trip to Everton on 20 December.

Significant Blow for Arsenal's Championship Bid

Losing such an influential player is a significant blow for the Gunners in their Premier League challenge.

The center-back has featured in every minute of the Premier League campaign so far and is crucial to a backline that has let in just five times in 11 outings.

Prior to the latest tie at the Stadium of Light, the side had recorded eight straight clean sheets in every tournament.

Replacement Options and Additional Fitness Worries

Mosquera and fellow summer arrival Piero Hincapié are in the frame to replace the Brazilian against Spurs.
